Specifications
Product shall be Suntek Onestage aluminium Louvre screens or Onestage Step aluminium Louvre
(Suntek LV or SLV), in modular units or continuous line of site runs, with horizontal blade installation manufactured from Extruded Aluminium. External “Z” shaped louvres shall be mounted on concealed brackets to provide an unbroken line over the entire length for continuous line of site installations. Concealed supporting mullions will be attached to flashing, jam and sill at 1200mm maximum centers with the pitch of the blades at 100mm for LV or 90mm for SLV.
Operation & Application
The Suntek onestage louvre has vertically positioned mullions at the back with horizontal louvre blades for natural air flow ventilation Across. The product has been designed to meet the demands of Australian conditions.
The onestage louvre employs an effective concept of shaped louvres
arranged to achieve optimum airflow and limited rain penetration, effectively filtering water from the air. The air passage geometry uses centrifugal force and pressure differentials generated within the ventilator to transfer large drops of water and water film to the subsequent louvre. These, and small airborne droplets flung out of the air stream, are collected by and drain from the single stage louvres.
Aesthetic and architectural appearance. Finishes include mill, powder coated, anodized, Suntek LV/SLV may be installed as individual modules or in an unbroken line without limit to either height or length through both internal and external corners. The ability to see through the louvre can be eliminated from particularly high-level applications by inverting the louvre.
Typical applications include cooling towers, plant and transformer rooms, as well as ventilation for exhaust and air intakes.

Performance and Testing
Airflow and pressure drop tests carried out at the Email Air Handling Laboratory at Regents Park determined aerodynamic coefficients of 0.32 for the single stage.
During weatherability tests at the National Building Technology Centre, onestage louvres have been tested to the maximum available wind velocity of 16m/s with driving rain at the rate of 0.11L/s per m2 of louvre. No water penetrated the specimen at any time during the test.
LV– one stage aluminium louvre
The LV aluminium louvre is assembled either in the factory when in modular form, or on-site for a continuous look. It can be used as a single stage louvre where ventilation is required without the need for high levels of weather protection, mainly for aesthetic purposes.
Weatherability
The LV aluminium louvre provides moderate weather protection. There is a single water channel at the top of the blade that minimizes water ingression up and over the blade. Water will also collect on the underside of the blade above when the air passes through the louvre, causing it to drain from the system.
Ventilation
The LV aluminium louvre is a high performing ventilation product. With free area of up to 75%, dependent on the height and width of the louvre, it will provide a higher volume of air. Standard pitch is 100mm.

SLV– one stage aluminium step louvre
The SLV aluminium louvre is assembled either in the factory when in modular form, or on-site for a continuous look. It can be used as a single stage louvre where high ventilation is required with the need for added weather protection.
Weatherability
The SLV aluminium louvre provides a moderate level of weather protection. There are dual water channels, located at the step and the top of the blade which minimizes water ingression up and over the blade. Water will also collect on the underside of the blade above when the air passes through the louvre, causing it to drain from the system.
Ventilation
The SLV aluminium louvre is a high performing ventilation product. With free area of up to 73%, dependent on the height and width of the louvre, it will provide a higher volume of air. Standard pitches are 90mm or 100mm.

Suntek two stage aluminium louvres
Applications and Description
Suntek TWL and FCEL are two stage aluminium louvre systems, designed to aesthetically conceal intake and exhaust openings associated with air conditioning and ventilation systems, whilst providing high defence against wind and rain. The Suntek two stage louvres are often used when maximum weatherability is required and will provide excellent privacy. The systems are designed to cope with all terrain conditions.
Most two stage louvres will require a depth in excess of 200mm. The Suntek TWL or FCEL system will reduce this need to approximately 160mm as the second stage is supported neatly between the mullions or incorporated into a full chevron designed single blade.

Ideal applications include enclosed plant rooms, A/C rooms, sub-stations, multi-story buildings, universities, schools, shopping centres and warehouse ventilation.
TWL– two stage total weatherability aluminium louvre
The TWL is the perfect external aluminium louvre, it is assembled either in the factory when in modular form, or on-site for a continuous look. It should be used as a two-stage louvre where ventilation is required with the need for high weatherability and/or aesthetic purposes.
Variations (LV+2ELV or SLV+2ELV)
The TWL aluminium louvre comes in two sections. The first stage is made up of a one stage louvre (either LV or SLV) attached to a concealed mullion with the extruded louvre (2ELV) rear second stage fastened at rear of mullions. With a depth of 160mm, the TWL is able to be placed in most openings without any overhang.
Ventilation
The TWL aluminium louvre is moderate air flow ventilation product. Free area of up to 51%, dependant on the height and width of the louvre. Standard pitch is 100mm front blade and 50mm rear.

FCEL– two stage total weatherability aluminium louvre
Testing and performance
The FCEL aluminium louvre is assembled either in the factory when in modular form, or on-site for a continuous look. It should be used as a two-stage louvre where ventilation is required with the need for high weatherability and/or aesthetic purposes.
Advantages
The FCEL aluminium louvre is a single blade full chevron louvre with good weather protection under all conditions. The design will give good privacy with no vision through the rear blade. The extruded sections make it a robust louvre ensuring easy installation using a unique proprietary clipping system. Nominal depth of the louvre is approximately 130mm, fitting neatly within block work and most openings without overhang and extra structural support. Extruded Aluminium – 21kg/m2

The FCEL aluminium louvre is a moderate to high performing ventilation product. Free area of up to 58%, dependent on the height and width of the louvre. Standard pitch is 60mm.

The PWL aluminium louvre is perfectly suited for the outdoors. It is assembled either in the factory when in modular form, or on-site for a continuous look. It should be used as a triple stage louvre where ventilation is required with the need for high weatherability and/or aesthetic purposes.
Variations
The PWL aluminium louvre comes in two stages. The first stage is made up of a single stage louvre, either LV or SLV blade, attached to a concealed mullion. The second stage comprises of the full chevron extruded louvre, inverted, and supported by clips at the rear of mullions. The depth of PWL is approximately 190mm.
